Safari Overview

Our 6 days primate safari is meant for visitors whose interest is to have more time with the great Chimpanzees and the great gentle giants. An opportunity to visit Kibale, Africa’s greatest tropical rain forests for Chimpanzee trekking in Uganda. Combine this with Gorilla trekking in Bwindi the home of the rare mountain Gorillas and wind down in Rwanda for the most premium Gorilla and golden monkey trek.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala – Kibale Forest National Park

After early breakfast at 0800am, take on a half day drive in to Fort Portal through papyrus swamps and thick jungle of the Nile Delta to Kibale National Park just under the Ruwenzori Mountains. A stopover in Fort Portal for lunch at Gardens restaurant, thereafter drive at your Leisure to Kibale with an afternoon crater walk of Nyinambuga. Meals and over night at: – Meal plan: (L, D)

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking Kibale Forest National Park – Bwindi

Half day search of chimpanzee and 10 other primate including phoestes, red Colobus, blues, and red tailed and grey cheeked mangabey. The guide will provide detailed explanations, not only on primates, but also on all the forest fauna and flora and will ensure that your walk is both informative and enjoyable. This walk is excellent for viewing bird life and seeing primates at close quarters. After lunch, proceed to Bwindi via Queen Elizabeth National Park and here you may spot many wildlife including Elephants, Buffaloes, among others. This is the lushest highland rain forest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds, valleys, hilltops and papyrus swamps. Day 3: Bwindi Gorilla Safari Trekking

Today is dedicated for Gorilla trekking experience in the jungles of Bwindi. Ready for briefing from UWA guides and rangers tacked in your trekking jungle boots, rain jacket with your walking sticks. Gorilla trekking is unpredictable. It’s difficult to determine how long it will take you, this can take a heavy hike. The gorilla tracking excursion can take from 2 up to 8 hours. Be ready to walk along distance in steep and muddy conditions, the floor is always wet. Time permitting after your Gorilla trek in the afternoon you will head for a community foot safari to discover and explore the local community, understanding their ways of life, receive some cultural performances. Day 4: Bwindi Forest- Rwanda
After breakfast, drive to Rwanda as you enjoy the rolling hills for which Rwanda is well known to Ruhengere via Musanze. Thereafter drive by the lakes (Ruhondo and Mutera) arriving at Parc Volcanoes in the afternoon. The evening is spent on sightseeing and relaxing around the hotel. Day 5: Gorilla trekking Parc Volcanoes

Have breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters where you will meet the ranger guides. When you are done with the briefing you will begin the trekking. The trek can be quite tough that it takes a lot of time approximately 2-8 hours. After the trekking, return to your lodge for complete relaxation. Day 6: Golden monkey Trek -Kigali City Tour – Out

Morning is dedicated for golden monkey trekking, these rare species are also listed as endangered and the second most rated highlight in Parc Volcanoes thereafter a drive to visit of Kigali city which includes the Genocide Memorial centre at Gisozi. The Kigali City tour will enable you visit the colorful markets, genocide memorials and craft centers are the main areas of interest. You will be transferred to Kigali Airport for your outbound flight. Meal plan: Breakfast and Lunch End of service
